Why Cuespeak?
I built this app because my father-in-law suffered from Locked-in Syndrome. Communicating was an overwhelming challenge. We were left with nothing except a blink for 'yes' and a longer blink for 'no', and there were simply no rapidly deployable tools available to support these cues. Sadly, he gave up after a week.
That experience stayed with me. I wanted to create something simple, accessible, and effective so that no one else has to feel that isolation. Cuespeak is my attempt to give a voice back to those who need it most.
The Future of CueSpeak
While currently focused on eye-tracking, the architecture is built to evolve. I aim to support multi-modal inputs, allowing users to switch seamlessly between facial gestures, finger taps, or even foot pedals, whatever movement remains available to them.
Additionally, I am researching minimal-input typing systems. By utilizing predictive algorithms and smart-scanning interfaces, I want to enable users to compose full sentences and express more complex thoughts, using nothing more than a single reliable signal.
